Huyck Australia have announced they will proceed with stage one of a planned expansion to its paper machine clothing manufacturing plant in Geelong, Victoria, that will deliver 30 new full-time jobs. The company will invest $7.5 million in the first stage of the expansion to increase their plant’s capacity and capability to supply press felts to the world market.
“With assistance from Regional Development Victoria (RDV), this new investment will transform Huyck Australia’s Geelong facility into an integral part of its regional and global operation with a strong focus on Asia,” Victorian Minister for Regional and Rural Development, Jacinta Allan commented today.
The Huyck Australia project is the third project of its kind to receive assistance under a new $10 million Victorian Government program to attract new industry and help existing industry expand in regional Victoria.
“The new Regional Industry Investment Program aims to secure, strengthen and diversify the regional industry base,” Ms Allan said.
“The program enables industries and businesses in EC-declared areas to improve their competitive capacity through investment directed at broadening business opportunities, upgrading skills and/or investment in technology to modernise processes.”
